Why choose us
Choosing a painter is about more than finding someone who can apply paint. You need a team that turns up when promised, respects your property, communicates clearly, and delivers a finish that will stand the test of time.
At Tauranga Painting Contractors, we take pride in doing the job properly—from the initial preparation through to the final clean-up.
Our work is completed by trade-certified painters with the training, practical experience, and technical knowledge required to deliver professional results — including correct surface preparation, coating systems, application methods, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
You are not simply hiring someone with a paintbrush—you are choosing qualified tradespeople who know how to protect your property and achieve a finish that is designed to last.
A great paint finish starts long before the first coat is applied. We carefully prepare every surface, repair imperfections, and use proven painting systems to achieve a smooth, durable, professional result.
We do not believe in shortcuts. Proper preparation means your paintwork looks better and lasts longer.
As Tauranga painters, we understand the challenges created by the Bay of Plenty climate, including strong sunlight, coastal air, humidity, and changing weather conditions.
We recommend paints and coating systems that are suited to local homes, businesses, and coastal environments.
From your first enquiry through to project completion, we keep you informed.
You will receive clear advice, straightforward pricing, and realistic expectations around timing. If anything changes during the job, we discuss it with you—not leave you wondering what is happening.
We treat your home or workplace as carefully as we would treat our own.
Furniture, flooring, gardens, fixtures, and surrounding surfaces are properly protected before work begins. At the end of each day, we keep the work area tidy, safe, and organised.
We know how frustrating it can be when tradespeople do not return calls, arrive late, or leave jobs unfinished.
Our goal is simple: turn up when we say we will, complete the work efficiently, and deliver exactly what was agreed.
Whether we are repainting a single room, refreshing a rental property, restoring an exterior, or completing a full commercial project, the same level of care and attention goes into every job.
We focus on clean lines, consistent coverage, detailed finishing, and results we are proud to put our name to.
Every property is different. We take the time to assess the condition of your surfaces, understand your goals, and recommend the most suitable solution for your budget and requirements.
You receive practical advice—not unnecessary upselling.
A professional painting job should not create unnecessary disruption.
We carefully plan each project, maintain a clean worksite, use appropriate safety procedures, and minimise inconvenience wherever possible.
Our reputation is built on satisfied customers, repeat business, and referrals.
We are committed to delivering a high-quality result and addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.
Good painters make a property look freshly painted.
Great painters take the time to protect, prepare, communicate, and finish every detail properly.
That is the standard we bring to every Tauranga painting project.

Recent work
Finished residential, roof and industrial coating work from recent jobs across Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty.
Charcoal cladding, crisp white trim, and clean interior finishes.
Interior repaint with modern two-tone walls and detailed finishing.
Mossed, weathered tiles prepared and recoated to a uniform charcoal finish.
Tauranga Painting Contractors was asked to provide a long-term solution for rust that had developed on the steel awning structure at St Peter’s Church in Tauranga.
After assessing the condition of the steelwork, we recommended applying a specialist Carboline epoxy coating system. This high-performance protective coating was selected to treat the existing corrosion and provide durable protection against further rust and weather exposure.
One of the main challenges was safely accessing the elevated steel structure while managing public access around the church. Careful planning, appropriate working-at-height equipment, and controlled work areas were required to complete the project safely and with minimal disruption to church visitors and the surrounding public.
Before you book
Cost depends on square metres, height and access, current surface condition, and whether the job is residential, commercial, industrial, interior, exterior or roof. After we see the property we send a free written quote — call 027 442 9391, send photos for a quick estimate, or use the form below. Avoid comparing day rates alone; prep and product choice drive long-term value.
Yes. We cover about a 120km radius from Tauranga — including Mount Maunganui, Papamoa, Tauriko, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau, Rotorua, Waihi and nearby towns.
Coastal and harbour-facing buildings need thorough washing and the right system for UV and salt. We treat prep as part of the job — not an optional extra — so the top coat is not fighting a failed substrate.
A standard interior or single-storey exterior often runs over several days once prep is done; roofs and larger or multi-level homes take longer. Your quote will include a realistic timing based on the property we inspected.
